Junius Heights is an East Dallas neighborhood of approximately 800 properties located very close to Lakewood and downtown. Most of its houses were built between 1906 and 1940. It was designated an historic district in 2006. The area is dominated by Craftsman homes, but you'll also see a sprinkling of Prairie style and Tutor properties. The neighborhood is bordered by Gaston Ave. Munger Blvd.,Columbia Ave. and Glasgow Dr. You can expect home prices in the $300,000 -$600,000 price range. 

Munger Place is the nextdoor neighbor of Junius Heights. It includes just five streets Junius, Reiger, Tremont and Victor. Munger Place was started in 1905 and consists of only about 250 homes. Prairie Style homes dominant the neighborhood. In fact Munger Place is the largest collection of Praire Style homes in the country. It was designated an Historic District in 1980 and is recognized by the United States National Register of Historic Places. Most of these homes have been updated, but renovations are closely scrutinized by the city and the Historic District to ensure the character of the neighborhood is preserved. The neighborhood lies is between North Fitzhugh Ave. on the southwest, Gaston Ave. on the northwest, Henderson Ave. on the northeast and Columbia Ave. on the southwest. Prices in Munger Place start in the $300,000s and can go over a million dollars.

Lakewood is a popular neighborhood in East Dallas. It is close to White Rock Lake, Lakewood Shopping Center and offers a short commute to downtown. Lakewood is best known for its historic style homes which were built in the 1920s and 1930s. Among the styles you'll see are Tudors, Spanish eclectic and Mediterranean homes. You'll also find a good selection of new-builds, contemporaries and ranch styles properties in the neighborhood. Lakewood Elementary which is a Texas Education Agency Exemplary School  provides a strong attraction for young families along with a number of private schools in close proximity. The boundaries of the Lakewood neighborhood are Abrams Rd. on the west, Williamson Rd. of the east, Mockingbird Ln. on the north and Gaston Ave. on the south.  Prices start in the high $500,000s and can exceed $2,500,000.
